Chris Sligh's Music

I have been a fan of American Idol and last season I really enjoyed Chris Sligh.  Just recently I heard his new CD and I really, really, REALLY love his music and the message.  The first song that I have playing on my playlist is "Empty Me" by Chris Sligh.  Even though I've never been in the "spotlight", I can so relate to wanting all of ME out and all of Jesus to fill me.

Here are the lyrics too!

Chris Sligh "Empty Me"

I've had just enough of the spotlight when it burns bright
To see how it gets in the blood.
And I've tasted my share of the sweet life and the wild ride
And found a little is not quite enough.
I know how I can stray
And how fast my heart could change.

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me so I can be filled with you.

I've seen just enough of the quick buys of the best lies
To know how prodigals can be drawn away.
I know how I can stray
And how fast my heart could change.

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me so I can be filled with you.

Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to you, compared to you.
Cause everything is a lesser thing
Compared to you so why surrender all?

Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
Empty me of the selfishness inside
Every vain ambition and the poison of my pride
And any foolish thing my heart holds to
Lord empty me of me so I can be
Lord empty me of me so I can be filled with you.
Oh, filled with you.
Empty me.

Jenn,
Hey we've been out of town. I'm sorry I haven't responded to the comment you left about the circles. Those were in a template and the ones in my header are actually from the Olivia Kit by the Shabby Princess at the Shabby Shopee. You're blog looks great! I'd love to chat scrapbooking sometime. I love the Pixel Fairy Princess. I have a link for her on my site. She designs the most beautiful pages.

On a side note...I'm from Texas too! We live in SC now, but I love TX. I think Tonya above commented on a brown bag concert...I am assuming that's with KLTY. I interned there in college and loved it. Small world...
