Be sure to quiet my music before you start
these videos!!
This was last year's video:
This is this year's:
For years we have thought about how awful it is that we spend so much money on gifts for Christmas that we don't even need. With the
adoption of Karleigh Mei last year and our
knowledge of how many people suffer across the world, we were spurred in to a bit more
action last Christmas. We gave donations to
help children with vision issues as gifts to our
family through Samaritan's Purse. You can
buy all sorts of really neat things to help
people in need through Samaritan's Purse.
From giving a family a dairy cow, to buying lifesaving mosquito nets. Go check it out!
World Vision also has a gift catalog full of
things to give to others in need.
You can also check out Charity Water and
help give life saving water.
There are OODLES of ways that you can give to others. And let me tell you, it feels so much better to have less under that tree, knowing
that your gifts have made a small impact in
the lives of someone else.
I'd love to hear how YOU have changed the
way you give at Christmas time!!
**The text on this new edit version is making me crazy. It's either too large or too small. And it chops my words at the end of the line. What a pain. And I don't know how to fix it 'cause it doesn't look like this while I'm editing it. Sheesh!!!!!

3 Love Like Crazy Comments:
What a timely post! I was JUST now going through totes in the basement to donate some items and I found some beautiful gently used toys that were hand-me-downs from my sister that I had put up because we already had plenty of toys. Since the boys have not seen or played with these toys I'm going to utilize some of these instead of buying nearly the same thing except in a box! This will help offset some costs that we had for generously filling some orphan's gift boxes for ND this Christmas! (Don't worry they will be getting new things too.) For my husband I am buying coffee (which he LOVES) through:
http://www.justlovecoffee.com/LittleFamily
By doing this we are helping to build a school in Ethiopia, supporting fair-trade coffee business and helping a wonderful family fund their special needs adoption--all with one purchse! (Check it out!) Also, last Spring I was blessed to donate to a cleft lip surgery. I did this quietly with some unexpected money that arrived. I plan to design and print a book with this little girls' before and after photo for my family as a famiy gift to them from her. I love your ideas too and I will be checking into them! What a cool way to enjoy the season without filling the house with more "stuff!"
**And if you make a post or add a button onto your sidebar or tell someone about
http://www.justlovecoffee.com/LittleFamily
you will be entered into a drawing for a $250 gift card to Best Buy! Check out the details here!

And when you do if you mention you heard about it from me ... then I get some more entries into the drawing too. :-) thanks
Happy Gotcha Day!!!!! I can't believe it's been a year already! How wonderful it has been to see your precious Karleigh Mei blossom more and more each day!
I love this post on giving. I coudn't read it all though. For some reason the text is cut off on the right. But the links work.
I found out about Advent Conspiracy last year and love what they are doing!
And we are so blessed to be able to volunteer with Operation Christmas Child's warehouse every year. We are so thankful that one of their facilities is near to our home.
Blessings!
