It Happens In A Blink

When school got started this year I knew I had to get Karleigh Mei a file to help keep her papers organized in one place. I had an extra file, but I had such a hard time getting rid of it, 'cause it was my Katie's. I still had some of her high school papers and such in there. I know. She graduated from high school in '05 and she's been married for over a year now. BUT, it was so hard to move that file out of there! I knew I had to, so I  put Karleigh Mei's name over Katie's and slipped it back in place.

I have boxes for each of my kids. A box where all those little trinkets and treasures can be stored. I hadn't looked in Katie's in a while, and now I had some  stuff to add to it. When I opened up her box, this is what I saw. The last remnants of what remained of her "school years".  Weep! It all happened so fast!

But, what I wasn't prepared for at all, was when I lifted up the college things, I found these things. Her footprints from the hospital and some "school work" from years gone by.  And then the rest of the box held all sorts of little treasures.

There is a song that comes on the radio by Revive called "Blink". Every time I hear it I cry. You hear so many people say it, but those with littles still at home, do you realize how true it is? It all happens so, so, so quickly! In a FLASH! Lexie will be graduating from high school this year. And then soon the boys will follow.

And before you know it, the little girls will be leaving too. sigh

Here is the song if you haven't heard it--be sure to quiet my music on the side before you start it. And if you are like me, grab a tissue.

Oh how I love saving stuff and going through it later. I have boxes and binders with all of my kids' things. I try to stay organized but sometimes it is hard. I like your little folder system.

Beautiful song.

I often think of the times with my biggest kids and the memories and I can hardly keep the tears...Tyler is about to deploy again and I can't stand that thought...I want my little boy back. It's so weird. We are so blessed, aren't we?

When Ryan graduated from Tech in May, I couldn't figure out when I had blinked. I makes me so much more appreciative of the little things with my other two though.

Oh I keep forgetting to tell you that we are in the process of relocating to my husband's home town about two hours south of S.A. When we get settled, I'd love to actually meet you in person :0)
