The Patch Is Off!

We have taken off Karleigh Mei's eye patch!! She wanted to watch us as we pulled it off, so she sat up on our bathroom counter and had a front row seat. :o) We pulled it off and she stared and stared at it. Something I have not mentioned about it, is that her eye has been stitched shut. Our eyelid is the best bandaid for our eye! Imagine that!? :o) The Lord did such a good work when He created us! We will return to the hospital on Thursday the 26th and have the stitches and "buttons" taken out. We told her that when she gets those taken out, she'll have two pretty eyes again! She was confused, but she is trusting us. She is such a dear little girl. Have I mentioned how much I love her!!! :o)

She is doing sooooooo fabulous! She took a good nap yesterday when we got home and woke up in a happy mood. She ALWAYS wakes up in a happy mood! She is so cute when she falls asleep in the car. When she wakes up from her little car cat-naps she always has the sweetest little smile on her sleepy face.

Okay...so here is the picture of our darling Karleigh Mei with the patch off!

I'm just in awe at A)how God miraculously made every detail of our bodies B) at the intricate surgeries that can now be performed and C) just how precious your little girl is. That little thing has been thru SO much in 3 short months-and she seems to have the sunniest disposition. what a blessing!!! praying her sweet eye heals exactly as it should. :)

I'm so thankful that she is handling this well....what a blessing. She seems to have the sweetest spirit!

Thanks a gain for documenting this for those of us who are waiting to be matched with a special needs child. It's so encouraging to watch God at work!

I'm still praying :0)

Her little face could not be any cuter. How do you keep from kissing her all the time???

Jenn,

Even though we've never met you or your family in person, oh how my girls and I love your family!

How precious is your sweet Karleigh Mei! We are keeping her and her recovery in our prayers. How good God is to her and your family! I can see the peace of God working in her as she is trusting in you.

When I read your blog and see pictures of your precious girl it gives us so much hope for our little one. I long to have her home. I pray that our little Maylie bonds with us as well as Karleigh Mei has bonded with your family.

Blessings and prayers,
Lydia

Hey that does not look as bad as I though it would. I thought she would have more brusing. Good girl leaving it alone.

Jenn--she is so beautiful! Hoping that she continues to sleep well & heal. Give her a big squeeze. Makes me wonder what my little Sydney is doing right now. Thanks for the update!
