| Thousands of starfish washed ashore. A little girl began throwing them in the water so they would not die. “Don’t bother, dear,” her mother said, “it won’t make a difference.” The girl stopped for a moment and looked at the starfish in her hand. "It will make a difference to this one." |

Thank you so much for posting this. I finally finished listening to the message. Our computer is in our bedroom so I listened to it in segments throughout the week and I was cleaning or folding laundry. It was so worth it! Wow! I wish this message was preached in every Christian church. The sad thing is it's in the Bible and yet orphan care is totally overlooked in many churches. I have been a Christian over 20 years and attended church regularly and it wasn't until last year that I heard a sermon on orphan care and adoption. That just about breaks my heart. And not to cast judgment on others I hardly thought of it myself until God touched us with His glorious spirit of adoption. I pray that those who are touched will spread the news by their lives and families.
I never heard of David Platt until I saw your post. The same day (or close to it) I was on Pastor Josh Harris's blog and saw his name under a sidebar of preachers he podcasts. I think God is calling me to listen to more of his teachings!
Well I will be keeping up with your blog to follow along with your family and the new precious one!
