Children's Hopechest

Have you ever heard of Tom Davis? He is the president and CEO of Children's Hopechest. I had the awesome opportunity to hear him speak at our "Orphan's Ticket Home" Gala just weeks before we left for China to get Karleigh Mei. I love what he is doing through Children's Hopechest and through the books he has written. If you haven't read any of his books, I would highly recommend you do! I am reading "Red Letters" right now, and it is opening my eyes even more to the plight of those living in Africa--especially the children who are effected by the AIDS crisis.

Here is a video done by Children's Hopechest that I had to pass along:

My first Tom Davis book was Fields of the Fatherless. Good Stuff - and then I read his first Fiction piece - "Scared" - changed my heart, opened my eyes. Scared ME. Scared me that I can live my life every day with SO MUCH - safety, food, warmth, a FAMILY. And I can take it for granted. Scared me that I may never "get it". Scared me that those those kids ARE God's and that He cares for them, loves them and is deeply saddened by the abuse & neglect and murder & starvation. Yeah, it Scared me that that little girl wasn't scared.

And then, I read the Red Letters.

And I researched Children's Hopechest.

And I may or may not have stalked Tom Davis a bit (to find out he lived in Colorado Springs where I had JUST moved from!) When I read his wife's story, my heart ached and I understood a little more of how God knows EXACTLY what is happening in our lives & why.

And He never lets go, not for one second.
